For most people, spring is the best time of the year (so long as you don’t have allergies!).  Probably one of the best times to travel as well since the summer travel seasons hasn’t started yet and the weather is so wonderful! Check out some of our favorite places to travel to in the spring!

Cuba

This island has wonderful things to share with its travelers. Between wonderful Caribbean beaches, beautiful city sights, and wonderful history and culture, Cuba is a hot one on our spring list!

Getting here has been getting easier since The USA has allowed a few of its airlines to fly passengers into the country. In particular, the two main airports that people fly into are HAV, in the city capital, and VRA, in Varadero. Havana is well known for 16th-century colonial architecture and Castillo de la Real Fuerza which is one of the city’s coolest landmarks! For VRA, it’s famous for its beautiful beaches. Located on a long peninsula off into the Caribbean, it’s a perfect place to catch some sun and relax!

Kerala, India

Spring (at least in the Northern hemisphere) is a great time to visit Kerala. To get here, the easieset way would be to get to fly into Kochi’s main airport, COK. To get here, check out the app and browse the routes!

The inland section of the region is home to the Western Ghats which is a mountain range that is lined with spice and tea plantations. This region is blessed with so much natural beauty that some of our most recommended activities are trekking, biking, and taking a bamboo raft down the Anoothupuzha river!

In the city of Kochi, there’s equally so much to do! Taking a cooking class, touring the Mattancherry Palace, or having some tea from the nearby Western Ghats! The city is a wonderful coastal city to visit in India!

Thailand

We’ve covered Thailand a few times whether it was our post in Chiang Mei or our guide on 24 hours in Bangkok. If you haven’t gotten the hint yet, you need to go to Thailand!

One of the most beautiful islands in Thailand is Koh Samui. This island has been a huge travel destination for years covered with dense and lush forests as well as phenomenal beaches, this island is a must-see! There are also many waterfalls and the Angthong National Marine Park.

For more of a city trip, feel free to check out our guide on 24 hours in Bangkok. In addition to what’s on that guide, we highly recommend checking out Yaowarat Road, a well known Chinatown district. Here there are some awesome Chinese-Thai fusion stalls and restaurants that are well worth a visit!

Iceland

A double feature, we’re really recommending Iceland! We’ve pointed out some advantages of going to Iceland in the autumn but in the spring is also a great time to visit!

Driving around the island is the best way to get to know the island. There are so many gorgeous waterfalls, stunning icebergs, and amazing scenic landscapes that you’ll be able to experience firsthand by driving around the island.

Porto, Portugal

Last but certainly not least is Porto in Portugal. This city is a famous travel destination and for great reason! This city is known for some amazing architecture and amazing scenery with the river that runs through it.

Famously in Porto is the port wine which is a regional specialty! If you’re into it, it’s a very sweet red wine (similar to a dessert wine) and you can find it just about anywhere in the city. If wine isn’t your thing, one amazing sight that Porto offers is the Igreja de São Francisco which is a Gothic church dating back to the 13th century!

Near the Igreja de São Francisco is the Ribeira district which is a whole district that has architecture dating back to the medieval era!

Spring will come and go and these places are begging to be visited! Download the StaffTraveler app and plan your next trip today!
