Standby travel is unpredictable by nature. Loads change. Plans shift. Flights get canceled. Sometimes, you urgently need a load update. By popular demand, we introduced Priority Requests last year. Priority Requests appear above other open requests and earn double the credits when answered, helping them be answered more quickly.

Since the introduction of Priority Requests, we have received a lot of feedback. One message kept coming up: members want more of them.

At StaffTraveler, our community means everything to us. We saw your messages, read your emails, and spoke with many crew members who had questions about when their Priority Requests reset, why they expired, or why posting Priority Requests uses regular credits too. So we simplified it.

We are updating Priority Requests by introducing the new Points System. From now on, we reward contributions with Points. Reach 100 points, and you’ll receive a free Priority Request credit that is yours to keep forever.

The changes in a nutshell

  • Every 100 points automatically converts into 1 Priority Request credit. There is nothing extra you need to do. It just happens.
  • Priority Request credits do not expire anymore.
  • When you post a Priority Request, it no longer costs normal credits.

It’s a cleaner system that rewards the people who keep this community moving. Simple. Transparent. Community-powered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you remove the 2 free monthly Priority Requests?

Based on community feedback, the previous model fell short. It relied on a recurring reset cycle, making the system hard to predict and easy to misunderstand. The new system fixes this by replacing resets with accumulation. Points now accumulate over time instead of disappearing on a fixed schedule, giving our members a clearer, more consistent, and more transparent experience.

How do I earn Points?

You earn Points by contributing. Answering requests is the main way to earn them, but you can also collect Points by adding tips, booking a hotel, purchasing an eSIM, inviting friends, and more. The more you contribute, the more Points you build up. Here’s a list of all the actions that earn you points.

What can I do with Points?

Once you’ve collected 100 Points, they automatically convert into 1 free Priority Request credit.

Do Priority Request credits expire?

Not anymore. Once unlocked, a Priority Request remains yours until you use it.

Does posting a Priority Request still cost a normal credit?

No. That cost has been removed. A Priority Request or Priority Update now only costs one Priority Request credit.

100 Points = 1 Priority Request

What’s next?

This kind of community-led improvement is just the beginning. The Points System lays the foundation for what comes next. We are already working behind the scenes on bigger updates scheduled for later this year, all shaped by how you engage with, contribute to, and use the app every day. As the community grows stronger, the system will evolve with it.

Here are the actions that will earn you points at launch. We’ll introduce additional ways to earn points along the way.
